Kit Carson Overview

Kit Carson has 10 available single-family campsites and next to the West fork of the Carson River among a beautiful forest of Jeffrey Pines and aspens.  It’s a really nice little campground, but the campsites are on the small size and best suited for tents.  Each site also has a table, food storage locker, fire ring and grate. Campsite #4 is for day use only and campsite #7 is for the friendly camp host. Amenities include water and vault toilets.

Popular outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, ATVing, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Other campgrounds in the area include Grover Hot Springs State Park, Indian Creek, Turtle Rock Park, Markleeville, and Crystal Springs.
