Live Oak South campground has 90 campsites for tent camping only and is located across the road from lake Isabella in the Sequoia National Forest. Campsites are set among large oak trees and a seasonal creek also runs through the campground. Amenities include drinking water and flush toilets. Campsites also have paved parking pads, a table, fire ring and grate.
Lake Isabella and Sequoia National Forest offers more outdoor recreation activities than you could count on one hand. There’s hiking, world-class mountain biking, incredible river rafting and kayaking on the Lower and Upper Kern Rivers. There’s also tons of water sports you can enjoy on Lake Isabella like boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, jet skiing, windsurfing and wildlife viewing. If you’re up for a drive – you can head up the Kern River about 40 miles and stroll through a nice grove of giant sequoia – the world’s largest trees BTW.
Live Oak North campground is nearby and offers first-come, first-serve campsites. Other Lake Isabella Area campgrounds include Boulder Gulch, Hungry Gulch, Tillie Creek, Paradise Cove, Live Oak North and Pioneer Point.
