Lopez Lake Campground has 377 campsites and is located 10 miles east of Arroyo Grande, CA in San Luis Obispo County. Many of the campsites overlook the lake while others are among beautiful large oak trees.  There are also 4  cabins available in the Hawk Loop. Each cabin can accommodate up to 6 people (4 adults / 2 kids).

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Campers can choose from standard sites (no hookups), sites with electrical hookups or full hookup campsites.  Keep in mind that many of the ‘primitive’ campsites (no hookups) are not in the best of shape (uneven and/or rutted parking area and camping area). Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot-water showers (coin operated) and trash collection.

The recreation area also has a marina with a launch ramp, a food store, snack bar and a tackle shop. Boat rentals also operate year-round.

If you’re heading down by the coast you may also like Pismo State Beach Oceano or North Beach campgrounds.

Lopez Lake Recreation Area Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, fishing, water sports, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, zip-lining and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also great in the area.

Vista Lago Adventure Park is a state-of-the-art high adventure ropes course with over 50 exciting elements that will test your abilities.  It has 4 high-speed zip lines and a lower course for beginners.

Mustang Water Park is also located in the heart of Lopez Lake and offers “wet and wild” fun for the entire family.  Two 600-foot curving waterslides, a “Stampede” inner tube ride down a 38-foot drop, tot pool with mini-slides. The park also has cabana picnic areas available.
