Moore Creek Campground has 13 campsites on a hillside above the McCould Arm of Lake Shasta in Shasta Trinity National Forest in California. When the lake water level is high, the campground is within 50 feet of the water. Boats can be moored on the shore next to the campground. Group camping is also available.
Moore Creek has drinking water and vault toilets. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring, gate and food locker.
The nearest boat launch is 4 miles away at Hirz Bay. There is an $8.00 daily fee for the use of the launch facility. Resorts on the lake also have watercraft rentals and marinas with fuel. Nearest store is about 15 miles away in Lakehead.
Other campgrounds in the area include Hirz Bay, Ellery Creek, Pine Point and McCloud Bridge.
Lake Shasta has 365 miles of shoreline and the Shasta-Trinity National Forest encompasses hundreds of mountain lakes and over 6,200 miles of streams and rivers. Outdoor recreation on the water includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming and a variety of other sports. On the land visitors can also enjoy backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Lake Shasta Caverns is also located on theMcCloud Arm of the lake.
