  1. I love Mt. Diablo. Have loved it since a kid.
Some time ago I saw there was a new handicapped campsite in the Juniper campground. I know it’s been there for some time, but the State covered over the multi-decades long and active squirrel den. There have been squirrels using that corner under the tree that was there for over 50 years!! I respect the want for such a campsite, but it was so wrong to pit it there!!

  2. I definitely do not recommend Live Oak #22 – not a lot of flat ground so you’re forced to set up the tent near the road, the folks at the group site across from us were SO LOUD, and you get a lot of light pollution and noise from the bathroom. The park in general is beautiful though and I’d be curious to try a different site, or maybe one at Juniper.

  3. Randomly stayed at campsite #24. It was our first time at Juniper. Avoid this site it’s next to the bathrooms/showers/trail. sigh. live and learn.
