Nordheimer Campground Six Rivers National Forest California

Nordheimer Overview

Nordheimer Campground is located right next to the mighty Salmon River and has 4 large group campsites and about 10 multi-family campsites. The campground has easy access to the river and is popular with whitewater rafting groups.

Campground amenities include vault toilets, overflow parking and trash collection. There’s also a river access / launch next to the campground. Water is not available so bring your own.  Roads and parking areas are gravel.  Cell service is not available.

Group sites A, B, and C have large grassy meadows, surrounded by forest. Site D overlooks the Salmon River with easy walking access for boaters and swimmers. Restrooms are portable in sites A, B and C. Site D has its own accessible vault type restroom. Combination fire ring grills and picnic tables are provided at each site. Group sites A, B, C and D are all reservable. The multi-family (individual) campsites are first-come, first-serve.

Hotelling Campground is also nearby (8 miles).

Outdoor recreation in the area includes whitewater rafting & kayaking, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
