North Lake Campground has 11 first-come, first-serve campsites located adjacent to the north fork of Bishop Creek in a beautiful forest of Jeffery and Lodgepole pines at an elevation. The road to the campground is partially paved, narrow and winding (trailers and RVs are prohibited).
The campground is usually open late May to early/mid-September (weather permitting). Campground amenities include a vault toilet. Piped water is not available, but you can filter from the creek. Each campsite also has a table, bear box (48″x 30″ x 36″) fire ring and grill. Remember your mosquito repellent in the spring and summer!
The campground is popular with backpackers and fishermen. Other activities include picnicking and wildlife viewing. The Lake is about 1/2 mile down the road from the campground. The Piute / Lamarck trailhead is also next to the campground.
Other campgrounds in the area include Sabrina Lake, Four Jeffrey, Forks, Big Trees, Mountain Glen, Willow and Intake 2.
