Oh Ridge Campground has 164 campsites and is located above June Lake and most have spectacular views of the surrounding 12,000 feet peaks of the eastern Sierra Nevada mountains. There are also a handful of campsites with views of June Lake.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Most of the campsites are large and spread out throughout the campground. Each site also has a table, fire ring, grill and food storage locker.
The campsites with water views of June Lake include: Bear (6 – 10), Duck (27 – 30), Squirrel (39-46) and Rabbit (60, 62 and 64). A few others in the campground may also have partial water views.
The Pine Cliff Resort is also next to the campground entrance. It has a small store that sells ice, firewood and other supplies. You can also pay for hot showers there.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, a dump station, an amphitheater and picnic area. There are also water spigots spread out throughout the campground to fill your tank. You can also access the June Lake beach / day use area from the campground.
Outdoor activities include swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking and fishing on June Lake. Visitors can also enjoy mountain biking, backpacking, picnicking, OHVing, horseback riding, wildlife viewing and photography. The nearby town of June Lake also has some grocery stores, shops and restaurants.
Other campgrounds in the area include Gull Lake, June Lake, Silver Lake and Reversed Creek. Hartley Springs is a nice (remote/wilderness) camping option as well.

please re-read and correct your description above- I don’t think people want to go “panicking” at Oh Ridge. 😆
So let it be written. So let it be done.
LOL – thanks for pointing that out Gaylie. We have made the correction. No more panicking allowed at Oh Ridge campground.
is there a place I can fill my water tank once we get up there? I know its dry camping but id rather not have my water tank full pulling that grade from bishop
Hi Andy,
Yes – Oh Ridge campground does have water spigots spread out throughout the campground to fill your tank.
Thanks for your informative photos. We stayed at 61 and it was beautiful. Midweek, not too many people, but when we left on Friday it was filling up.
You are welcome Lin. Glad you had a great time at Oh Ridge campground!
Hello, its going to be my first stay at june lake and i was wondering if anyone can help me. I can’t seem to find where the rules say how many tents are allowed on one site please advise thanks
Hi Ruben, You’re going to have a great time at Oh Ridge campground up by June Lake. It’s a beautiful campground and area. There’s a maximum of six people and 2 vehicles per campsite. As for tents, you can generally have as many as would fit in your campsite
Is there overflow parking available for a truck a side x side trailer? Can you access OHV trails from the campground?
Hi Shannon,
Oh Ridge campground doesn’t have any overflow parking area, but most sites are quite large and will fit a large (slide out) trailer/RV and a vehicle. Some may even fit two vehicles (but the 2nd will cost an additional fee). There are OHV trails you can access next to the campground, but not from within the campground.
Will the campground be open for the 4th of July?
Hi Luis, Oh Ridge campground is tentatively scheduled to reopen in mid June, so it should be open for 4th of July!
Is mid June still a possibility for reopening of grounds?
Hi Nate, We’re hoping that Oh Ridge will reopen in mid-June. That is what we have heard. You can check the link below for updates:https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232269
Hello, the fs.usdsa.gov website shows Oh Ridge is opening today June 12th, 2020. Did the campground actually open? I have reservations next week and it’s an 8 hour drive for us.
Hi Dale,
We just saw that too. If the fs.usda.gov site says it is opening – then it is so! Have a great time.
Hi Camp Rangers,
Existing reservations all ready made still in place?
Are the campfires allowed?
Thank you.
HI Roz,
Oh Ridge campground is allowing fires as of today.
How is bear loop site 01? Hard to tell on the site with the picture.
Hi Nick,
Oh Ridge campsite #1 isn’t too bad. You have some afternoon shade from the big pine and a tent area toward the rear of the parking area. Nice space over by the table too. Site #2 is a little close though.
Hello Park Rangers, I’m looking for a campsite big enough for 3 tents, 6 people on September 7 & 8 for 2 nights. We will have 3 standard cars. Is the campsite #007 or 159 big enough for all of us? If not, does any of the campsite, #014, 020, 058, 148, or 149 work for us? Do you recommend getting 2 campsites such as #148 & #149? We don’t need to be right next to each other, but it’s nice to be close to each other and not too far from a restroom. Which campsites have a nice lake view? Do you have any recommendations?
Hi Mari,
You’re going to love Oh Ridge campground – it is really nice. The campsites there can accommodate two vehicles and 6 people. The 2nd vehicle costs an additional fee ($7 per night currently). Of the sites you mentioned, I think campsite 14 would probably fit 3 small tents, and maybe sites 20 and 159. I recommend reserving two campsites so you can fit all of your vehicles and tents. The best Oh Ridge lake view campsites probably are 6-10, 27-30, 159 and 160. Others to consider include 37-43, 60-64 and 155-159. Have a great time!
RV lengh limit spot 136?
Hi Russ,
Oh Ridge campsite #136 has a 30′ maximum vehicle length.
Hello Rangers. We are looking to camp from 9/4/20-9/7/20 at oh ridge. Heard great things. We know it’s a busy holiday weekend and there doesn’t seem to be any available reservations. Could you please give me some advise on first come first serve spots. How many first come first serve spots? When is the best time to come to find an open spot? What time is check out? Our first time visiting so thank you for any information you can give!
Hi Emily,
Usually they hold only about 3-4 campsites for first-come, first-serve campers at Oh Ridge. Currently campsite #75, #143 and #153 are first-come, first-serve. However, some days are ‘reserved’ for these campsites. You can click on the ‘Make A Reservation’ button to see what dates these sites are available as first-come, first-serve. More campsites may open up as FCFS later in September. As this is a very popular campground, you’ll improve your chances with a mid-week arrival (Mon-Thu), and preferably arriving in the early morning. Check in is 2pm and check out is 12pm, but you’ll want to get their early (and maybe get in line) for a FCFS site. The Labor Day weekend will be tough. Only campsites #75 and #143 are being held for FCFS campers. Most likely someone will grab those with a Thursday arrival (Sep 3) if not sooner.
Hi Ranger,
We are looking for 3 camp sites to accommodate our extended family hopefully at the end of July 2021. We would like the camp sites to be relatively close to the bathrooms and good views of the lake or mountains. Shade is an added bonus but not necessary. Thank you
Hi John,
Oh Ridge Campground is currently sold out through July 10th. The reservations are on a 6 month schedule. In other words you can try and reserve a site 6 months prior to the day of arrival. For example, tomorrow (Jan 11 / 7am PST) reservations will open for July 11 arrivals, and so forth. Keep in mind that people will book for multiple days so not all campsites will be available. You can click on the ‘Make A Reservation’ button to check availability, pricing and make a reservation. Once you have a date nailed down – login to Recreation.gov about 6:45am and be ready to click the ‘check availability’ button right at 7am. Then quickly try and reserve sites because the campground will probably sell out in minutes. If you don’t get a site you can use our Campsite Assist tool to get an email and text notification when a campsite becomes available on the dates you want to camp: https://www.campsitephotos.com/campsite-assist/?c=Oh+Ridge
Hello Ranger,
We are hoping to book a site to hold 1 tent & 1 travel trailer. We will have 2 trucks in addition to the RV. We have 6 people. We are hoping to travel 7/14-7/18. Do you think we should book 1 site or two adjoining sites? Do you have any suggestions of sites that would be best to accommodate the number of people/vehicles/tent/rv situation described above? Thank you in advance for your help.
Hi Erica,
Mid July will be a busy timeframe at Oh Ridge campground. Most campsites are or will be taken. I don’t think you’ll be able to get 2 adjoining campsites. Each site also has a two vehicle / 6 person limit so you’ll need to get two campsites.
I have found all of your comments so helpful, thank you, Ranger. For a summer camp date, if you had to pick a site that is on the larger, flatter side, and also provides some shade, which would you recommend out of # 56, 57, 58? Thank you!
Thanks Hannah!
Campsite 58 will have the least amount of shade. Campsite 56 will give you more shade in the morning till about noon, and campsite 57 will give you more shade in the afternoon. All of the sites are pretty flat, and I think #57 is a little larger than the others. Have a great time up there!
Hi. We made reservation there on July 2021for 4 days. We will be camping with our trailer and can’t find any info if there is a dump station within the campground. If not, where is the nearest one? Thank you
Hi Jason,
There is no dump station at Oh Ridge Campground, but you can find one at Fern Creek Lodge & Store – $10 charge (4628 Highway 158
June Lake, California).
Hello! Curious if we have two vehicles that are towing two trailers if that counts as [4] vehicles or [2]. Thank you for the clarification!
Hi Kelly,
Good question. Two vehicles – each pulling a trailer counts as 4 total vehicles.
Hello. Does this campsite allow SxS’s? We would like to bring our rzrs, inside our toy haulers.
Hi Miguel,
Yes – you can have your rzrs inside your toy haulers and park at your campsite at Oh Ridge campground.
Thank you! Can we ride our SxS out of the campground to the trails?
HI Miguel,
Unfortunately, you’re not allowed to ride your SxS in the campground.
Need recommendation on campsites. We will have one large tent and two larger vehicles – one truck and one suv. Prefer a loop with bathrooms. In an area where campsites are not on top of each other and some trees/shade a plus. My dates are not set so looking for good sites available first then dates.
Hello,
How can we reserve a site for next week?
We’d like to visit on 4/12/2021-4/15/2021.
Please let us know. Thank you.
Hi Alison,
Click on the “Make A Reservation” button to check availability, pricing and make reservation through Recreation.gov.
Hello,
I am thinking on visiting Oh Ridge at Lake June In May 21st-23rd. Is swimming allowed during may? Are there any restrictions I should know about?
Hi Jessy,
Yes – you can swim in June Lake at the swimming beach (in May and throughout summer) located at north end of lake. Water will be cold though 😉
What time do the showers open and close
Hi Sean,
Oh Ridge campground does not have showers.
How large or dimensions of bear box? Thank you
Hi Cathy,
The bear box dimensions at Oh Ridge campground are: 48″x 30″x 36″
We will be staying in site 134 with family in august. We noticed that the spot does not state any RV length. We have a 20ft trailer for our elderly grandparents. Would that be allowed on that spot? Our family has spots 133-135 and could not find any books after we noticed this issue.
Hi Eric,
Per the Rec.gov description, the pad length is 30 feet, but (as the picture shows) it has a “severe driveway grade”. The mandatory equipment is tent or pickup camper (probably because the grade would be too uneven to safely park). You can also have up to 2 vehicles and 10 people at that site.
Here is the link to the description on Rec.gov.
Would we be turned away if we brought the trailer and dealt with the slope? We just need a place for elderly to sleep.
Wondering if you can recommend any trailer/rv delivery services. I have heard that you only work with Adventures in Camping. Is this a rule? or can I seek other companies as they are completely sold out for the summer.
Thank you!
Hi Jennifer,
CampsitePhotos.com is not associated with the campgrounds listed on our website. We provide the photos of each site and campsite availability alerts. Adventures in Camping is the only provider we know of that delivers trailers/RVs to the area (including Oh Ridge). I believe their smallest trailers comes out to about $250-$300 per night. You could also check out RVshare.com. They may have some “locals’ that are sharing/delivering the trailer/RV.
Hello – can you tell me if Oh Ridge has any First Come (non-reservable) campsites? Thank you
Hi Peggy,
Unfortunately Oh Ridge does not have any first-come, first-serve campsites during the summer season. All are reservable – at least from mid May through October. The campground does usually have first-come, first-serve on the fringe (up until May 18 and late October) – weather permitting.
After reserving Site 120, Fish, 9/18-26/21 to be close to a bunch of camping friends, just notice my confirmation says “severe slope.” So, am concerned if I can manage getting around with my wheeled walker and getting my 22’ RV level?!? Thanks
Hi Barbara,
Oh Ridge Campsite #120 does not appear to have much of a slope to me:
How far of a walk is it from Campsite #90 to June Lake Beach?
Only asking because we’ll be carrying our inflatable kayak down to the Beach.
Thanks……
Hi Tedoro,
From Oh Ridge campsite #90 to the first parking lot at June Lake Beach is about 2/3 of a mile (3,060 feet), and to the 2nd parking lot it is a little more than 3/4 of a mile (4,300 feet). All roads are paved from the campground to June Lake Beach. There is not a direct trail (short cut) from the campsite to the beach.
You mentioned parking lot……..does that mean one is able to drive one’s camper van to the lot and park & then enjoy the beach?
Correct – you can drive your camper van and park at either parking lot to enjoy the beach/lake. Parking lot #1 (closest) has more spaces. Trailers are not allowed to park in the lot.
How do I add days if available to my current reservation for September 24-26, campsite 117?
Hi Bonnie,
Your current reservation is with Rec.gov. You can either go to the Rec.gov website and see if a campsite is available (to extend your stay), or you can call them at: (877) 444-6777
How do you check in to Oh Ridge Campground
Hi Subhan,
You can stop at the Camp Host site to check in. If the host is not there, you can go to your campsite and the host will swing by later to check you in.
I reserved space 39. I have a pop up trailer and two cars. Will the space also fit a tent?
Hi Shawn,
Oh Ridge campsite #39 can have up to 2 vehicles and 8 people. The pad length is 30 feet. You can have a tent on the site as well (there is room). FYI – your trailer and towing vehicle each count as a vehicle. Camp host will make final call if you can also include a 3rd vehicle.
Being that campsites don’t have a sewer connection, is there a pump truck that comes around and will empty your holding tanks
Hi Louie,
There is no pump/honey truck service that I’m aware of at Oh Ridge campground.
Hi,
Are there non-reservable campsites at Oh Ridge? if yes, any advice on getting one of those spots. Thank you
Hi Milla,
Unfortunately there are not any first-come, first-serve campsites at Oh Ridge until after mid September. Keep in mind the campground closes in October.
You can try to pick up a cancelled campsite. Our Campsite Assist service will alert you when a campsite becomes available. It includes a link to then try and make a reservation.
Hello, I have a reservation in Deer 135 starting Sunday night. We are all single people meeting up from different areas and will definitely have 4 cars. I see in the comments above that there is no overflow parking at Oh Ridge campground. What are our options for our additional cars?
Also, one of us is due to arrive at the campground very late. Are there gates that close access to the campground at certain hours? Thank you!
Hi Amber,
You can have up to 2 vehicles and 6 people in (Deer) campsite #135. Unfortunately there are not many options for overflow parking in the area (the campground does not offer overflow parking). You may try the Pine Cliff Resort. It is located next to Oh Ridge campground and has campsites. They may also have overflow parking (for a fee) for Oh Ridge campers.
we have site 10 booked and it says steep grade. curious how steep it is and whether i will be able to get a travel trailer leveled.
Hi Jason,
Campsite #10 is nice – view, privacy and a large camping area. However, the parking spur is sloped (down toward the camping area). Unfortunately I don’t know how much the slop is, but looks to be a few feet from entrance down toward the back of parking spur. Looks like you may have about 15-20 feet of level parking surface.
Ive noticed some of the campsites , like 06, are near the lake. Can I bring my small boat and launch it from my campsite on my trailer? The boat is an inflatable and has an outboard motor. Thank you. any info on this matter i appreciate it
Hi Benny,
Unfortunately none of the campsites are close enough to June Lake to launch watercraft. You’ll need to drive down to the day use area/beach. From there, the parking lot is still a good 150 yards to the water. The closest boat ramp is about a 2.5 mile drive (from the campground) over to the marina (near town).
Hello! Wondering if you can tell me which campsites have a lake view?
Hi Alex,
There are a few in each of the following loops that have views of the water: Bear (6 – 10), Duck (27 – 30), Squirrel (39-46) and Rabbit (60, 62 and 64).
Hello Rangers,
i reserved a site, Bear 15, and I was wondering if there is a bathroom nearby? Also, is it spacious to accommodate 2 cars and 2 tents?
Thank you
John
Hi John,
Campsite (Bear) #15 has a parking spur of 31 feet in length. You can have up to 2 vehicles and 6 people in that site. It also has room for 2 medium sized tents. The closest bathroom is over int he Gull Loop (about 1,000 feet from campsite #15).
Hi John,
Campsite (Bear) #15 has a parking spur of 31 feet in length. You can have up to 2 vehicles and 6 people in that site. It also has room for 2 medium sized tents. The closest bathroom is over in the Gull Loop (about 1,000 feet from campsite #15).
Hello, for Rabbit Loop site #55, the picture shows a pergola and metal shade. Is that because this site doesn’t have tree shade? Do you think this is a good site to tent camp with kids? It’s close to the bathroom, water, and trash. 🙂 Thank you!
Hi Gigi,
The pergola in campsite #55 provides a little shade, but is mostly to block the prevailing winds in the area. There is no other shade at that campsite so it’d be a good idea to bring a shade canopy (and secure it to ground). The site can have up to 2 vehicles and 6 people. Maximum vehicle size is 33 feet for trailer and 40 feet for an RV. There’s also some flat tent pad areas (probably the largest about 14×14 feet). There’s some open area behind the campsite for the kids to wander around. And the bathroom is about 70-80 feet from the campsite. Hope this helps!
Hi are any of these spot good campsite deer loop 136,137,138,139 and also are we able to take a grill
Hi there – Do you know where the campground host is located? We were interested in booking 35-39 but 38 is missing and it looks like the campground host will be in between us. Thanks!
Hi Kate,
We do have a photo of campsite #38 and it is the host site.
Hello! Do you know if Duck 034 has room for a 14x9ft tent? Thanks!
Hi Jeremy,
I don’t think there’s enough room for 14×9 foot tent at Duck 34. To the left of the parking spur you have about 7-8 feet from the edge of the parking spur to the fire pit and maybe about 14 feet of length to work with (but tent would be against fire pit / BBQ pedestal and food storage locker. Behind the parking spur you have about 5-6 feet of width and maybe 14 feet of length.
Thank you so much for the information! We are a family of 4. Any idea of maximum tent size or best way to accommodate sleeping 4 people via tents at 034? Thanks again!
You can also put your 14×9 foot tent on the parking spur if you have room. Not sure what you’re driving. The parking spur is about 38 feet long by 14 feet wide. There would be room for your tent and a large SUV.
What is this site for a 10 person tent and 2 vehicles ? Thanks is there a tent pad?
Is rabbit 66 big enough for a 10 person tent and 2 vehicles? Is there a tent pad ? Thank you
Can you please help me out to plan for oh ridge. Is Rabbit 66 have space for a 10 person tent. Is there a tent pad. Thanks
Hi Julie,
Not knowing the dimensions of your 10-person tent, but assuming it’s pretty big, I’m not sure there is an area in Rabbit loop #66 that will fit it. There may be enough space toward the rear of the camp, but not sure.
