Pumice Flat Campground has 17 campsites adjacent to the middle fork of the San Joaquin River and between two babbling creeks. You’ll have plenty of shade from the lodgepole pine forest and great views of the spectacular mountain peaks in the area. The 17 single-family campsites are first-come, first-serve, but it also has reservable group campsites at the campground.
Pumice Flat Campground has drinking water and vault toilets. Each campsite has a table, fire ring, grill and food storage locker
Outdoor recreation includes fishing, backpacking, hiking, picnicking, horseback riding, stargazing and wildlife viewing. The town of Mammoth Lakes is about 12 miles away should you need an supplies. You can also take a shuttle if you don’t want to drive. There is also a small store and restaurant close to Reds Meadow.
Other campgrounds in the area include Minaret Falls, Reds Meadow and Devils Postpile.
