Rock Rest Campground has 10 single-family campsites on a ridge above the North Yuba River in the Tahoe National Forest. Take the bridge over to the river and you’ll find some fine swimming holes.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 30 feet). Most sites have nice shade from oak, fir pine and madrone trees. Each site also has a table, food storage box, fire ring and grate. Amenities include potable (drinking) water and vault toilets. Cell service is not available.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, mountain biking, OHV trail riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Seasonal kayaking and rafting are also popular in the area.
Other campgrounds in the area include Cal-Ida, Carlton, Fiddle Creek and Indian Valley.
