Schoolhouse (CA) Overview

Schoolhouse Campground has 56 campsites and is located on the south shore of New Bullards Bar Reservoir in Tahoe National Forest. There are 44 single-family sites and 12 double-family sites.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, food storage locker, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets (and one vault), overflow parking and trash collection. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host. Cell Service is fair to poor. The Dark Day boat ramp is also about 1/2 mile from the campground.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, water sports, fishing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Other campgrounds in the area include Fiddle Creek, Dark Day, and Hornswoggle Group.
