Sentinel Overview

Sentinel campground has 82 single-family campsites and is located along the South Fork of the Kings River adjacent to Cedar Grove Visitor Center in Kings Canyon National Park. The campground is generally open early spring to late fall.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, food storage locker, fire ring and grate. Campground amenities include drinking water and flush toilets. Overflow parking is also available for campers with extra vehicles. The nearest dump station (available in summer only) is at Princess campground along Highway 180. You can use generators from 9am to 9pm. A restaurant, showers and laundry facilities are also available at nearby Cedar Grove Village.

Sentinel – Area Recreation

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Nearby attractions include Hume Lake, Mist Falls, Zumwalt Meadow, Roaring River Falls and a number of hiking trails.

Other campgrounds in the area include Moraine, Sheep Creek, Canyon View Group and Convict Flat.
