Sherwin Creek Campground has 87 single-family (mixed-used) campsites and is located in the Mammoth Lakes area. Campsites are large and can accommodate rigs from 27 to 60 feet (most in the 35 to 40 range). The campground is organized into 3 loops among mature Jeffrey pines and adjacent to the creek. Campsites 1 to 15 are ‘walk-to’ tent-only.
Most campsites are reservable, but some are first-come, first-served. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Several sites are tent-only. Each campsite also has a gravel parking spur, table, food storage locker, pedestal BBQ, fire ring and grate. Campground amenities include drinking water and vault toilets. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host.
The area is a popular destination for off-road vehicle enthusiasts and has a motocross track and trails. Other outdoor activities include fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hunting and wildlife viewing. The nearby town of Mammoth Lakes also offers a variety of things to do include shopping, golfing, special events and other activities. There are also many fine restaurants in town.
Other campgrounds in the area include Pine Glen, Old Shady Rest and New Shady Rest.

This is our third year to visit this campsite. We stay in our 28 Ft Toy hauler and on occasion we bring our Jeep to explore the many lakes and streams. Some of the camp sites are hard to get in but we always had help from the very friendly staff. We like the fact that this area is close to Town whereas one can conveniently resupply your provisions and when we don’t feel like cooking we can hit the restaurants in Mammoth.
Hi there. We have campsite 015 booked – i can’t tell can we pull up in our car with our very small teardrop?
So, for the campsite #15, were you able to pull your car in to the site or you had to carry all the camping gears for about 75 feet?
