Sierra Campground is located 7 miles north east of Sierra City and has 16 single-family campsites next to the North Yuba River in the Tahoe National Forest. Some campsites are just a few feet from the river (like #8).
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (16 to 80 feet, but most in 30-40 foot range). Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Amenities include vault toilets. No potable (drinking) water is available, but you can purify the river water for drinking/cooking. Cell service is not available.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hunting, OHVing, picnicking and wildlife viewing. And make sure you jump on the back of the dino-tree for a photo opportunity!
Loganville Campground is also nearby.
