Silver Creek Campground has 22 campsites and is located in a fir and pine forest on a mountainside above Noble Creek.  The campground straddles Highway 4, creating 2 separate loops.  Campsites 1-11 are on the north side of the highway and furthers from the creek. Campsites 12-22 are on the south side of the highway and closer to the creek. One site is a double-family campsite.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 35 feet). Each site also has a table, bear box (food storage locker), fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available for purchase from the camp host.

Most campsites are reservable, but sites 1, 12, 21 and 22 are first-come, first-serve. About half of the sites are okay for RVs or small trailers. Sites 2, 3 and 11 are pull-thru sites. Our best RV site is #15 and the best tent site is #5.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, backpacking (the Pacific Crest Trail can be accessed 3 miles to the west of the campground), picnicking, stargazing and wildlife viewing.

Other campgrounds along or near Highway 4 (in the area) includes Hermit Valley, Bloomfield and Centerville Flat. Markleeville Campground is nice if you’re heading that way.
