Spanish Creek Campground has 24 campsites and is located on the banks of Spanish Creek in the Sierra Nevada (Plumas National Forest) and just a few miles from Indian Falls. The historic town of Quincy is just to the southeast. And if you’re into butterflies – the Butterfly Valley Botanical area is also very close to the campground.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Hookups are not available. There is one group campsite. Several of the campsites are waterfront (right on the creek). Each campsite also has a table, fire ring, grill, bear box/food storage locker and lantern post. The campground has vault toilets, drinking water, picnic area and a campground host.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes tubing, fishing, kayaking, swimming, picnicking, hiking, biking, exploring historic sites, and horseback riding As mentioned, there’s also butterfly watching and other wildlife viewing that is sure to amaze you.
Other campgrounds in the area include Greenville and Almanor South. Sundew Campground is also nice and is next to Bucks Lake.
