Strawberry Point Campground has 10 first-come, first-serve campsites and is located on the shore of beautiful Ice House Reservoir in the Eldorado National Forest.
The campground is generally open mid-May to mid-October. Campsites 1-5 have nice views of the water but they are small (camper van or tent) and right next to each other (little privacy). Sites 6-10 are larger, more private but lack water views. Camp roads and parking spurs are paved. Each site also has a table, food storage locker (bear box), fire ring and grate.
Amenities include vault toilets and trash collection. Piped (potable) water is not available, but you can filter the nearby lake water. A dump station and boat ramp are available at nearby Ice House Campground. A few overflow parking spaces are available. Cell service is poor in the area.
Other campgrounds in the area include Northwind, Ice House and Silver Creek Group.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, fishing, water sports, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The largest Ponderosa pine tree in the country is also located nearby, topping out at over 268 feet!
