Sweetwater Overview
Sweetwater Campground has 14 campsites and is located just off Highway 120 in the Stanislaus National Forest. All sites are first-come, first-serve.
Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets and trash collection. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, food locker, fire ring and grate. Campsites generally have some nice room in between other sites. Firewood is also available for purchase from the camp host.
Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, mountain biking, fishing, picnicking and wildlife viewing. It’s also close to Yosemite National Park (about 14 miles from west entrance and Hodgdon Meadow Campground). Lost Claim Campground is also about 3 miles away.
