Table Mountain Comments & Reviews
Visited Table Mountain Campground lately? We'd love to hear about your adventure. Did you find us useful? Did we forget something? Anything our community should know before heading out to Table Mountain?
Hello! I am reserving a campsite at Table Mountain for tent camping over Labor Day weekend. My priorities are shade and privacy, and to a lesser degree, shelter from wind and views. I am choosing between sites 80, 92, and 117. Can you recommend which one would be best? Thank you!
Hi Nicole,
All three campsites (80, 92 and 117) are among our favorites at Table Mountain Campground. We generally pick the sites based on location (view, next to water, etc.), privacy, size and if they are level. I’d lean more towards 92 and 117 for size, shade and privacy. They may also have a view. Site 92 and 80 may have better protection if windy. Have a great time up there!
Hello, I have two sites reserved and need to cancel one of them. Do you have a recommendation between site 84 and 90 as to which is better? Thank you for any advice you can give.
Hi Matthew,
I’d lean more toward site #90. Its larger, more level and away from the vault toilet. Site #84 is close to and could be down-wind of the toilet. It also has a small incline to walk up to picnic table area. Both appear to have the same exposure (not much shade).
This is great. Thank you very much for your help!
You are welcome. Have fun!
hello! I am looking to book campsite 36 though it looks very close to the vault toilets- i cant quite tell from the map though. Is it as close as the satellite map makes it look? thanks!
Hi Lexi,
Yes, campsite #36 is pretty close to a toilet (about 60-70 feet).
Hello! The following sites are available for the dates I am looking for… which are the best for spaciousness, privacy, and shade? Views are a plus, too! Thanks!
#34, 36, 43, 51, 60, 70, 71, 72, 75, 97, 99, 102, 105, 115
Thank you for any advice you can provide!
Hi Nicole,
Among our favorite/best sites include #43 and #105. These are fairly large, level, private and are away from high traffic areas. Other good sites (from your list) to consider: 36, 60, 71 and maybe 97. However #97 has a pretty good slope (not much flat area to pitch a tent). Hope this helps and have fun up at Table Mountain!
Can you bring your own firewood?
Does the fire pit have a grill to cook on it? Or are there grills? We are staying in 25 – 28 quad campsite
Hi John,
Campsites 25-28 have fire rings with grills. They also have BBQ pedestals. Firewood can be purchase from the camp host or in Wrightwood. The USFS discourages people from bringing wood in from outside of the area in order to help stop the spread of disease and insects that would harm the forest.
Hello we have a reservation for the 25-28 quad campsite. Wondering if there are showers near or how far and if there are grills to cool with firewood.
Can one bring their own firewood?

Hello! I was wondering if you have any insight about site #113 at table mountain camp? Specifically curious if it has substantial shade and a view? Also wondering how the weather is during early July and if it’s currently very hot and or windy at night (so we can plan ahead)? Thank you so very much!
Hi Poppy,
Table Mountain campsite #113 is one of our favorites at the campground. It is a spacious site with plenty of room between neighbors. It’s also level and has some nice peak views. Large trees (providing some shade) are scattered throughout the campsite but you will have off/on sun exposure. You can expect temperatures in the mid 80s during the day and low 50s at night. Mid-eighties during the day (in the mountains) can feel pretty warm (maybe hot depending on where you’re from). Wind may kick up from time to time (10-15 mph) in the afternoon. Have a great time camping up there!
I have a 15ft trailer and looking to stay this month (85 to 92 degree is forcasted) either site 111 or 113. Some shade is the afternoon sun is the most important and the view is nice to have . Based on these criteria, which would you recommend? TIA!!
Just recently booked Site 11 for my upcoming camping trip. Is this a good site?
Hi David,
Campsite #1 is nice. It’s large, level and by itself (neighbors not close). You’ll also have a little shade depending on time of day. It’s a little close to an intersection for campground roads so you may get an occasional vehicle passing by but shouldn’t be a big deal. Have fun at Table Mountain!
Hello,
I’m trying to decide between site 103 and 44. Both of them are among your favorite sites, but is one better overall? I’m looking for the best view, shade and privacy. Thanks!
Hi Dan,
Correct – campsite 44 and 103 are among our favorite/best picks at Table Mountain campground. Both are large, private, have nice shade. I’m not sure, but I believe #103 might offer a better view, but I think both are about the same. I’d lean more toward #103. Hope you have a great time!
Hi, i want to go camping for one night, this friday for labor day weekend – me and my boyfriend are looking for a cute spacious site with the best views and nice big tall trees. Any recommendations? Also, is wood bonfire, dogs and hanging hammocks allowed?
Hi Julie,
Among some of our favorite/best Table Mountain campsites you might check out are 11, 112, 113, 116, as well as 35, 37, 39, 40, 91 and 92. Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are in place in Angeles National Forest – fires allowed only in campfire rings at a developed campground. You’ll need a Campfire Permit. You can check latest fire restrictions at the Angeles National Forest website. Pets/dogs are allowed but must be on leash. Not sure about hanging hammocks. Have a great time!
