Camping on Catalina Island doesn’t get much better than at Two Harbors campground. The campground has about 44 tent-only campsites and 13 tent-cabins overlooking the crystal clear waters of beautiful Two Harbors.
The campground offers rustic/primitive camping and has vault toilets and outdoor (cold) showers. The ocean/beach is a short walk from any site. Group ‘camping’ is available at Bahia Azul and Brisa Del Mar. Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grate. Most also have shade shelters.
Campers arriving via boat (private or via Catalina Express) will drop off their gear at the Visitors Services office and then hike to the campground (about 1/2 mile). You can hike your gear to the campground or pay $5 a bag to have it shuttled and dropped off near your campsite. You can also rent tents and sleeping pads from the Visitor Services office. Water & firewood can also be purchased and delivered to your site for a fee.
Two Harbors village has a variety of services available for campers including a laundry, restaurant/bar, flush toilets, hot showers ($), lockers and a grocery store. There’s also a beautiful beach/day-use area, playground, kayak rentals, snorkeling and scuba rentals.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, sailing, sunbathing, swimming, disc golf, scuba diving, snorkeling, hiking, mountain biking and picnicking. Land and water tours are also available.
Other campgrounds on Catalina Island include Little Harbor and Hermit Gulch (Avalon). Parson’s Landing and Black Jack are two other primitive campgrounds.
