Upper Deadman Campground has 13 FREE campsites and offers some off-grid camping between Mammoth Lakes and Juno Lake.  A creek also flows nearby. The wilderness area offers spectacular views of nearby mountains including White Wing, Lookout and Deer.

The campground is generally open late May to mid-September and the road to the campground is gravel.  It is roughly a 20-minute drive to the nearest services over in Mammoth Lakes. Cell services is not available.

Amenities include vault toilets and a limited number of bear / food storage lockers. Piped water is not available. All sites are fist-come, first-serve and there is a 14-day limit. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs up to 45 feet).

Area Recreation & Activities

The area is popular for ATV/OHV enthusiasts as there are several miles of trails that weave throughout the area. Other activities include mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Other campgrounds in the area include Lower Deadman, Obsidian Flat Group and Glass Creek. Developed campgrounds are also located in Mammoth Lakes area.
