Valle Vista Campground has 6 primitive (first-come, first-serve) campsites with some pretty sweet views of the surrounding hills and into the San Joaquin Valley. When its clear, you can also see the Sierra Nevada during the day and the lights of Bakersfield at night. The rustic campground is best suited for car / tent camping and is open year round. The entrance to the campground is steep, rutted and sharply curved.
Campgrounds roads and parking spurs are gravel. A vault toilet is provided but water and trash collection are not available. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill.
The campground doesn’t have a lot of recreation nearby. There are a couple of hiking trails within 20 miles. Stargazing is good (when clear), and you can also enjoy a dandy picnic.
Other campgrounds in the area include Campo Alto (17 miles) and Ballinger (OHV) Campground (23 miles).
