Wench Creek campground has 100 single-family campsites and 2 group campsites located on the eastern shore of Union Valley Reservoir. One group site is tent-only, and the other group site is a standard site for tents, RVs or trailers.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate.
Campground amenities include drinking water (no RV tank fill up allowed), vault and flush toilets. There’s also a boat ramp, picnic areas, swimming beach and a dump station. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host.
The main attraction is the beautiful reservoir which offers a variety of water recreation including boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming and sailing. Visitors can also enjoy mountain biking or hiking through the towering cedar and Ponderosa pines of Eldorado National Forest. Eldorado includes the famed gold mining territory of the 1800s. Remnants of the days of the California Gold Rush can be found all around the region.
Other campgrounds in the area include Sunset, Fashoda, Yellowjacket, Wolf Creek and Jones Fork.
