Willow Creek Environmental Campground California

Willow Creek Environmental Overview

Willow Creek Campground Scenic

Willow Creek Environmental Campground has 11 walk/hike to (tent only) campsites and is located along the Russian River in Sonoma Coast State Park. All campsites are first-come, first-serve. The campground is generally open from mid March to mid October.

All campsites are along the river, but only a few have water views because of the brush. Sites are also spread out and have nice privacy. Some are more open and others are tucked under Willow trees. Each site also has a table, food storage cabinet, fire ring and grill.

Amenities include vault toilets. There is no potable/drinking water. Pets/dogs are not allowed. The hike from the parking are to the campsites range from about 1/4 mile (#1) to a mile (#11). You also need to pack all your gear/trash in and out.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, picnicking and wildlife viewing. In fact, you may also see one of those cute river otters playing around in the river. Blue heron, egrets and osprey also frequent the area.

Other Sonoma Coast State Park campgrounds include Pomo Canyon Environmental Camp, Bodega Dunes and Wrights Beach.
