Wolf Creek Campground has 42 single-family campsites and is located on the north side of Union Valley Reservoir in the El Dorado National Forest. Group camping is also available. The campground is usually open late May to early September. Checkin time is 2pm and checkout is 1pm.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Campsites best suited for tents (up to 25 feet vehicle parking) include 1, 4, 6-11, 13-21, 23-27, 29-35, 37 and 41. Sites better for trailer or RVs (parking spur up to 50 feet) include 2, 3, 5, 12, 22, 28, 36, 38-40. Double unit sites include 33, 36, 38 and 41. Each site also has a table, fire ring, grill and food storage locker (bear box).
Amenities include piped drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. Hookups are not available and there is no cell service. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host.
Wolf Creek sits in the Crystal Basin of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The area is also known for granite peaks, alpine lakes and pine forest.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, water sports, hiking, mountain biking and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also great in the area. The nearest boat ramp is at Yellowjacket Campground.
Other campgrounds in the area include West Point, Camino Cove, Yellowjacket, Wench Creek, Big Silver Group, Azalea Cove, Jones Fork, Big Silver Group, Fashoda and Sunset-Union Valley.
