Vega State Park Aspen Grove campground has 31 campsites and is located next to the Vega Reservoir with many sites having great views of the water.
Campsites can accommodate for tents, trailers and RVs. Each campsite also has a table, fire pit and BBQ grill. Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and a dump station (in the park). There’s also firewood for sale from the camp host.
Our favorite Aspen Grove campsites are 202, 203 and 205.
Vega State Park is located on the Northeast edge of Grand Mesa, at an elevation of about 8,000 feet. The reservoir offers boating, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing and fishing during the summer and some excellent ice fishing and snowmobiling during the winter. Visitors may access trails atop Grand Mesa for hiking and four wheeling in the summer, and cross country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. Other outdoor recreation includes hiking, biking, OHVing, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
Early Settlers, Pioneer and Oak Point are three other campgrounds at Vega State Park. Early Settlers has 33 campsites and Oak Point has 39 campsites. Pioneer Point has 10 walk-in campsites and 5 rustic cabins.
