Avalanche (CO) Overview
Avalanche Campground has 9 first-come first-serve campsites and is located next to Avalanche Creek in the White River National Forest.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Amenities include vault toilets. Potable (drinking) water is not available. Cell service is also not available.
Area Recreation & Activities
Fishing is available in Avalanche Creek and in the Crystal River, which is 3 miles downstream. One of the major trailheads into the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness is located adjacent to the campground. Other activities include picnicking, mountain biking, hunting and wildlife viewing.
Other campgrounds in the area include Redstone, Bogan Flats and Lynx Pass.
