This place is a gem. People should know that it is about 18 miles on unpaved roads with open range cattle. There could be a slight “traffic” jam as they cross once in a while. Be respectful, don’t honk at them. One will think that the scenery is a little bland until you turn off and head up the hill. Coming into the campground you will find forest and lakes, absolutely beautiful! Be aware that in 2016 there was a fire near this campground and that it is new growth and still some fallen timber on trails. Vault toilets, water, no hookups. Two lakes, waterfall hike, many streams, and a horse corral. Lot of wildlife including bears, moose, and wolves so be prepared and aware. Great fishing. No cell and no wifi. Closest town with services is Walden, CO.
