Black Canyon of the Gunnison North Rim campground has 13 sites in a Pinyon-Juniper forest. All campsites are first-come, first-serve.
The campground has drinking water (mid-May to mid-September) and vault toilets. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill. All campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis (no reservations). Also keep in mind that the last 7 miles of road to the campground is unpaved. RVs/trailers larger than 35 feet are not recommended.
Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park exposes you to some of the steepest cliffs, oldest rock, and craggiest spires in North America. With two million years to work, the Gunnison River, along with the forces of weathering, has sculpted this vertical wilderness of rock, water, and sky.
There’s also plenty of outdoor fun here including backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, river rafting, kayaking, and wildlife viewing.
South Rim is another campground at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
