Chapman Dam Campground is located above Ruedi Reservoir and next to the Fryingpan River in the White River National Forest. The campground has 84 single-family campsites laid out in several loops. There is also 1 nice group campsite.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (30 to 40 feet). Each site also has a table, food storage locker, fire ring and grill.
Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilet and trash collection. Cell service is not available in the area. Firewood can be purchased from the camp host. There is also a horseshoe pit and volleyball court.
Area Recreation & Activities
Fishing is very popular with opportunities to catch rainbow, brown, cutthroat and brook trout. Chapman Reservoir is also an option for anglers wanting to cast lines in at its shore. Motorized watercraft is prohibited on Chapman Reservoir.
Other activities include hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, OHV trail riding, horseback riding and hunting. Wildlife viewing is also good in the area.
