One Comment on “Colorado National Monument Saddlehorn”

  1. Paul Price says:

Definitely one of the most spectacular campsites in Colorado. Perched 2,000 feet above Grand Junction it has an easy access from Fruita, which is a cool little town with a brewery and bistros.
If heading west get off in Fruita to access ,not Grand Junction which puts you right in a very confusing situation.
Just 4 mile up onto the top of a long winding mesa road. Good clean restrooms , running water but no showers .
There are showers down at the State campgound close to I70 and Fruita – but not a place you’d want to camp.
Up on top lots of trails and hiking and a beautiful bike ride around the rim but no off-road rideing.
The views from up here and the topography make it as must do.
Further west in Utah, check out route 24 with it’s many parks and sights.
