Difficult Campground White River National Forest Colorado

Difficult Campground has 47 spacious campsites and is located next to the Roaring Fork River and about 5 miles southeast of Aspen, CO. One group campsite is also available. The campground is generally open late May to early October and has a 5-day stay limit. Trees provide shade to most campsites.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Only a few of the parking spurs can accommodate trailers up to 40 feet. There are no hookups, but each site has a table, food storage locker, fire ring and grill. Amenities include water, vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available for purchase from the camp host. A day-use/picnic area is also available. Cell services is not available in the area.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, mountain biking, OHV trail riding, horseback riding, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Other campgrounds in the area include Weller and Lost Man.
