James M Robb-Colorado River State Park Fruita campground has 63 single-family campsites and is located along the Colorado River. There are 22 full hookups, 22 electric sites, 13 tent sites (45-57) and 6 group sites (A to F). Campsites can accommodate tents trailes and RVs. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate.
The campground is open year-round and is available on the reservation system from March 1st through November 30th. A camper services building is centrally located with coin operated showers and a laundry facility. Other amenities include drinking water, flush toilets and a dump station. Firewood is also available to purchase. Cell service is good.
Island Acres is another campground at James M Robb Colorado River State Park.
Day use activities including swimming, picnicking, trails, fishing and boating for hand propelled or electric powered craft. There are 10 river miles between Corn Lake and Connected Lakes and another 10 miles of floatable river between Connected Lakes & Fruita. A trail system winds through stands of tall trees and along the banks of this famous and magnificent western river.

Fruita section does not have swimming. The old swim beach was closed indefinitely in 2006 and no plans have been made to re-open it.
