Lathrop State Park has two campgrounds with 103 single-family campsites and both campgrounds are located close to beautiful Martin Lake. Pinon campground has 82 campsites (some with 50 amp electric / no water or sewer) and Yucca campground has 21 non-electric sites. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate. Group camping is also available.
Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets, showers, trash collection and a dump station. There’s also mixed use trails, a visitor center, gift/book store, picnic areas, a boat ramp and horse trailer parking.
Martin and Horseshoe Lakes offer visitors a variety of water recreation including boating, canoeing kayaking and fishing. Martin Lake also offers water skiing, power and sail boating. Other outdoor recreation includes hiking, biking, picnicking, horseback riding and wildlife viewing. The Park is also the only Colorado State park with a golf course (the 9-hole Walsenburg Golf Course).
