Little Bear Campground has 36 single-family campsites and is located next to Island Lake in the Grand Mesa National Forest. The popular campground is first-come, first-serve. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 45 feet). Some of the campsites have great views of the lake. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate.
Campground amenities include drinking water and vault toilets. There’s also a boat ramp and fish cleaning station nearby.
Other campgrounds in the area include Island Lake, Cobbett Lake, Jumbo, Ward Lake, Spruce Grove and Crag Crest.
There’s a nice variety of outdoor recreation here including backpacking, hiking, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, mountain biking and OHVing. Wildlife viewing is also great. Just remember to also bring bug repellent.
