Lower Beaver Creek Overview

Lower Beaver Creek campground (also known as just “Beaver Creek”) has 18 campsites along the creek at an elevation of 8,400 feet in the Rio Grande National Forest. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring, grill and foot storage locker. There are 3 pull-through sites and 15 dead-end spur sites.  The campground is first-come, first-serve and has drinking water and vault toilets.

The campground is also close to Beaver Reservoir. Both the creek and the reservoir offer some fine fishing. The campground had drinking water and vault toilets.  Although a few campsites remain open throughout the year, most sites are only open May through mid September.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, biking, biking ATV/OHV riding, hunting, picnicking, horseback riding, photography and wildlife viewing.

The ‘sister’ campground (Upper Beaver Creek) is located about a mile away.
