Rifle Falls State Park – Area Recreation

The main attraction here are the three 70 foot waterfalls that have been quite the with tourists as far back as 1884. Back then it was known as Rifle Falls Ranch and became a state park in 1966.  Outdoor recreation includes fishing for rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout in East Rifle Creek. Other activities include hiking, mountain biking, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing. In the winter you can also enjoy cross-country skiing and snowmobiling.

You may also like the campgrounds in Vega State Park including Aspen Grove, Oak Point and Early Settlers. Rifle Gap State Park is also nice.
