Silver Bar Campground White River National Forest Colorado

Silver Bar Overview

Silver Bar 004

Silver Bar Campground has 4 (tent-only / walk-to) campsites and is located on the banks of Maroon Creek and adjacent to the Maroon Bells Welcome Station.

The walk to the campsites range from 40 to 150 feet. One ADA site is also available. Each site also has a table, food storage locker, fire ring and grill. Amenities include trash collection, vault toilets and drinking water.

Area Recreation & Activities

The Maroon Bells Scenic Area is surrounded by the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness. Towering over glacial valleys at over 14,000 feet in elevation, the Maroon Bells are the most recognizable peaks in the Elk Mountains.

Visitors can enjoy backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, horseback riding and fishing. Wildlife viewing is also great with opportunities to see bighorn sheep, deer, bear and other forest creatures. The town of Aspen is a short drive if you need supplies or like to do a little shopping.

Silver Bell or Silver Queen campgrounds are also in the area.
