Silver Bell Overview

Silver Bell 002

Silver Bell Campground has 14 campsites and is located along the banks of Maroon Creek within the Maroon Bells Scenic Area.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and small RVs. A few of the sites are some tent-only / walk-to campsites. Campsites 1, 5, 6 and 7 are reservable. The rest are  first-come, first-serve camping.

Amenities include vault toilets. There is no water available. Each site also has a table, lantern post, food storage locker, fire ring and grill.

Area Recreation & Activities

The Maroon Bells Scenic Area is surrounded by the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness. Towering over glacial valleys at over 14,000 feet in elevation, the Maroon Bells are the most recognizable peaks in the Elk Mountains.

Visitors can enjoy backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, horseback riding and fishing. Wildlife viewing is also great with opportunities to see bighorn sheep, deer, bear and other forest creatures. The town of Aspen is a short drive if you need supplies or like to do a little shopping.
