Spillway Campground PSICC Colorado
Spillway Overview
Spillway Campground has 23 campsites and is located along the South Platte River and near the dam of Eleven Mile Reservoir. It is also about 10 miles southwest of Lake George. The campground is open mid May to early October and reservations are accepted.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (parking spur 25-40 feet). Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Some campsites have shade from a few spruce and ponderosa pine. Campground amenities include drinking water (hand pump), vault toilets and trash collection. Cell service is poor in the area.
Other campgrounds in the area include Cove, Blue Mountain, Riverside and Springer Gulch.
Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, fly fishing, rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is also nearby and has one of the richest and most diverse fossil deposits in the world.
