Springer Gulch Campground has 15 spacious campsites and is located a short walk to the South Platte River at an elevation of 8,300 feet. Ponderosa, aspen and fir trees are scattered throughout the campground and become more dense at sites that are further up the gulch.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers (up to 25 feet) and RVs (up to 28 feet). Campsites can have up to 2 vehicles and 8 people allowed per site.

The campground is generally open mid May to early October (weather permitting). Amenities includes drinking water (hand pump), vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is usually available to purchase from the camp host. Cell service is also not available in the area.

Other campgrounds in the area include Blue Mountain, Cove, Riverside and Spillway.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, fly fishing, rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.  The Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is also nearby and has one of the richest and most diverse fossil deposits in the world.
