State Forest State Park North Park Campground/Loop is located right off of County Road 41 and State Highway 14. The Michigan River is also nearby. It has 29 basic sites, with no hookups. Some sites are for tent camping only. There are 9 pull-through sites, 7 rustic cabins with no amenities and two deluxe cabins with electricity, shower and flushing toilets.
Amenities include a camper services building with water, flush toilets, showers and laundry facilities (coin operated). Cell service is poor in the area. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill.
Other campgrounds at the park include Bockman, Crags, Mendenhall, North Michigan and Ranger Lakes.
Outdoor activities in the area include boating, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, horseback riding, hunting and wildlife viewing. Visitors can also enjoy ice fishing, snow shoeing, snow sledding and snowmobiling during the winter months.
The ultimate in rugged Colorado, State Forest State Park offers visitors 71,000 acres of forest, jagged peaks, alpine lakes, wildlife and miles of trails. The park stretches along the west side of the Medicine Bow Mountains and into the north end of the Never Summer Range.
