State Forest State Park Ranger Lakes Overview

Ranger Lakes campground in State Forest State Park has 32 campsites with electric hookups and is a short walk to Ranger Lakes fishing areas. There are also six rustic cabins available for rent (year round). Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate.

Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets, trash collection, a dump station and amphitheater. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. You can stay up to 14 days during a 45 day period (and they can be consecutive).

Other campgrounds/loops at the park include Bockman, Crags, Mendenhall, North Michigan and North Park.

Area Recreation & Activities

Visitors can get their rugged outdoor on and explore 71,000 acres of forest, jagged peaks, alpine lakes, wildlife and miles of trails. Outdoor activities in the area include boating, water sports, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, horseback riding and hunting. Winter sports activities also include ice fishing, snow shoeing, snow sledding and  snowmobiling.
