Big Lagoon State Park Campground Florida

Big Lagoon State Park Overview

Big Lagoon State Park has 75 campsites set among saltwater tidal marshes, lagoons and is just a mile away from gulf coast beaches. A primitive group/youth camp is also available (11 to 40 people). It is one of the Florida Panhandle campgrounds and is near Perdido Key.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 40 feet). Each campsite has water & electric hookups (30/50 amp), a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grill.

Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers, dump station and trash collection. There’s also an amphitheater, boat ramp, canoe/kayak launch, beach, playground and hiking trails. Cell service is also good in the area.

You might also like Fort Pickens Recreation Area, Henderson Beach State Park, Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, Rocky Bayou State Park or Grayton Beach State Park.

Big Lagoon State Park – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation includes boating, kayaking, paddle-boarding, fishing, hiking, biking, swimming, star gazing, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

The park is also a gateway for the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail. Birding is awesome with opportunities to see more than 23 species of wood-warbler and a variety of ducks, sandpipers and black-bellied plovers.
