Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park is located on a barrier island and fronts historic Apalachicola Bay in the Gulf of Mexico. The campground is behind the historic dunes in the pine flatwoods and has 60 campsites with water & electric hookups. Although none of the campsites have any views of the water, the campground is just a 1/4 mile from the beach. Two primitive pack-in, pack-out camping are available at Gap Point and accessible only by the 2.5 mile Gap Point Trail, canoe or kayak. Primitive group camping is also available.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers and nearby dump station. There’s also a boat ramp, playground and nature trails. Hammock camping opportunities are available at each site. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate. Maximum RV length is 43 feet.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, paddle boarding, hiking, biking, beach combing, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

We love this state park. Florida state parks are beautiful and well maintained. There is much to see and do near this state park.
