A great campground to visit! Semi-private sites, some w/shade…several on the water (see pics) for fishing, kayaking, etc… NICE Restrooms. You can’t pick your site until you get there…so go early for the best site…although on weekends that aren’t holidays, you can usually find a good spot, regardless… Prices reasonable, especially senior rate!
Really enjoyed our stay at EGSimmons.
We have been going there for years, it’s a beautiful park always nice workers until today, we had 2 campsites and 4 tents, 2 canopies, been out there since Thrusday, park ranger today was nasty, her name was Billy, very rude, said we can’t have 2 canopies, her words were this place looks like shit, and she repeated, you don’t need to talk down to people or be rude,no other park ranger said anything. she said new rules coming out, well after being there for 3 days you would think they would of said something sooner and not been nasty about it, I think her job has gone to her head. There were groups out there with screen rooms and canopies plus tents on one site. We kept things cleaned.
Finished up 3/13/2020, my second winter at Simmons, both years staying about six weeks. Staff has been great, very friendly, and really try to make your stay a good one. Hopefully I will return next year!!
💖 I Love This Place, I may just camp out here for the rest of my life , 🤣
