Fanning Springs State Park is located in a forested area next to the Suewannee River and features amazing blue-green spring waters. The springs produce 65 million gallons of water daily and the perfect 72-degree water temp to coll down on hot summer days.
The park has 1 primitive group site and 4 cabins. Each cabin can accommodate up to 6 people and parking for 2 vehicles. They have 2 single beds, 1 double bed and 1 queen bed. They also have a chairs, sofas, tables, lighting, a toilet, bathtub (with shower), AC, hot water, a microwave, stove oven, wood stove fireplace, and a delightful porch with a picnic table.
Primitive camping is first-come, first-serve and available only for those arriving by foot, bicycle or paddling on the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail. Overnight vehicle parking for primitive campers is not permitted.
The group site is located at the top of the bank above the canoe launch on the Suwannee River. The nearest restroom is about 600 feet away. It also has an outside, open, cold-water shower. One community campfire circle is also available.
Outdoor recreation includes scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also great in the area.
