Fort Clinch State Park has 62 campsites set up in two campgrounds/loops where you can either camp near the ocean or under a canopy of moss covered trees. The Atlantic Beach campground (sites 1-21) is in an open area near the ocean and the Amelia River campground (sites 22-62) is under a canopy of large trees.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (25 to 45 feet). Each campsite has water/electric hookups and also a table, fire ring and grill. The electric hookup varies between site – either 30 amp or 50 amp available (depending on the campsite). There is a dump station in each loop, as well as drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers ($) and a laundry.
Campsites A to F are primitive, tent-only (walk-to) sites. No wheeled camping equipment allowed. Each of the tent-only campsites has a parking spur (about 10×20) for one vehicle. Trailers/RVs are not permitted. The walk to the camping area is about 30-40 feet. Each site also has a picnic table, ground grill and access to potable water. No Electricity, and generators are not allowed. The campground is quite sunny and near the beach. Full service restroom facilities are located nearby. Two (2) tents per campsite.
Fort Clinch State Park is a well-preserved Civil War fort where visitors can explore the many buildings, room, galleries and grounds. We are in site 7, beachside. The sites aren’t very large or private, but most have adequate space. The restrooms ate great, large and clean. I would stay here again, but would try to get a site in the river.
We are looking to find an available campsite in Fort Clinch campground. Are there any available ?

Can a 42 ft motor home fit in site 4 at Fort Clinch State park
Hi Darcy,
Campsite #4 has a parking pad length of 45 feet so your 42 foot motorhome will fit fine. Have fun!
What are campsites A through F like? I see they are “tent only” but would an SUV fit at the spot or is it hike-in?

Will my 38ft travel trailer fit in site 2 – beachside??
Hi Tammy,
Yes, that site can accommodate an RV or trailer up to 45 feet. You can park your tow vehicle next to it in the parking spot.
Hi Tammy,

Several friends in my saddle club want to camp with our horses and ride the beach. Can you accommodate us?
Hi Eileen,
CampsitePhotos.com is not associated with the campgrounds listed on our website. We provide the photos of each campsite, campground availability alerts and camping info. I’m not sure if they allow horse back riding at For Clinch State Park/beaches. I recommend you give the park a call to double check: 904 277-7274
Trying to find out the foot print (open areas for tents). We have two 4 person tents but on is kind large (94″x94″) and other is standard size (8’x7′). Will both fit?
Hi Mary,
Unfortunately we don’t have that info (foot print / tent camping area size) for the Fort Clinch campsites.
Are your beach sites REALLY only 30 amp? The Florida State Park website is horrible to try to find anything….I was so used to Reserve America.
Hi Sherry,
The electric hookup varies between site at Fort Clinch State Park (Beach or River loop) – either 30 amp or 50 amp available (depending on the campsite).
I am looking to camp there sometime in October or November for a Thursday night through Saturday leaving on a Sunday. We have a 42′ 5th wheel trailer. We are looking to camp in the beach area, site #9 would be nice. Do you have any sites available for us at that time?
Hi Debbie,
You can click on the ‘Make A Reservation’ button to check availability, pricing and make a reservation at Fort Clinch State Park. I did a quick check and there are not many campsites available in Oct-Nov. A few RV sites here and there. Several tent campsites/dates are available though. You can also use our Campsite Assist service to get availability alerts if a campsite(s) become available on the dates you want to camp.
