Hurricane Lake North Blackwater River State Forest Overview

Hurricane Lake North Campground 017

Hurricane Lake North Campground has 18 campsites (with water & electric hookups) and is located on the north side of Hurricane Lake in the Blackwater River State Forest.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site has water & electric hookups, paved parking spur (ranging from 30 to 75 feet) a table, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include drinking water, restrooms with flush toilets & showers, trash collection and a dump station. There’s also a boat ramp and fishing dock. Firewood is available to purchase from the camp host.

Hurricane Lake North – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boarding, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, birding, horseback riding and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also great in the area.

Blackwater River State Forest is the largest state forest in Florida and has over 210,000 acres of woodlands, lakes, and streams. The forest is also part of the Florida National Scenic Trail and Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail.
