Silver Lake Withlacoochee State Forest Overview

Silver Lake Campground has 23 single-family campsites (water & electric hookups) and is located next to the shore in the Withlacoochee State Forest. It is also adjacent to the Day-Use Area, which has a reservable picnic shelter/pavilion and a boat ramp.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (30 to 50 feet). In addition to water & electric hookups, each site also has a table fire ring and grate.  Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets and  a dump station. Firewood is also available for purchase from the camp host. Cell service is good in the area.

Cypress Glenn, Hog Island and River Junction campgrounds are also nearby.

Silver Lake Withlacoochee State Forest – Area Recreation

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, water skiing, jet skiing, swimming, picnicking, hiking, biking, horseback riding and wildlife viewing.  Seasonal hunting is also available in most of the forest.

You may also like Lake Louisa State Park or Hillsborough River State Park.
